On 4 January this year, the dispatcher of the Bolesławiec Municipal Police received a phone call about a homeless person staying near the railway station, who might need help.

A patrol was immediately sent to the scene and identified a homeless man known to the officers. He was heavily under the influence of alcohol. There was also suspicion that he was severely hypothermic—the bluish color of his body indicated this. The officers provided the man with first aid and called an ambulance, which, after an initial examination, determined that the man was suffering from hypothermia and had frostbitten hands. The homeless man was taken to hospital by an emergency medical team.

A similar situation occurred on 5 January this year, when the dispatcher of the Bolesławiec Municipal Police received a report that a man was lying in the waiting room of the railway station. At the scene, the municipal police officers also recognized a homeless man known from previous checks, who complained of chest pain. His appearance indicated that he was hypothermic. In this case as well, the man was immediately given first aid and an ambulance was called, which decided to take him to hospital.
