The family patriarch, Bucky, is seriously considering spending the holidays in the company of a very young waitress from a local diner. His daughter and her husband continue to pretend they have a perfect marriage, even though they increasingly feel like beating each other with a Christmas tree. Their son cannot control his adorable yet unruly four-year-old daughter, who swears like a sailor. His beautiful, single sister, wishing to avoid comments from the family, invites a soldier she met by chance to dinner and introduces him as her fiancé. This year, the baubles may explode.
