We recommend that everyone watch the interview. It contains answers to questions that have been causing concern.
For those who are impatient, we have selected some of the most interesting quotations from the interview.
- No student will lose the opportunity to study in their class. All teachers will remain. This does not affect either students or teachers. It may concern the principal and vice-principal of this school, and possibly non-teaching staff.
- Three institutions are being considered: the “construction school,” the “commercial school,” and II LO. The decision must be made by February of next year at the latest.
- We have reached the point where we will have to build the district education system—that is, district schools—once again.
- Neighboring districts often closed schools because, firstly, they had few students, and secondly, they could no longer support themselves with subsidy funding. The problem is that there are few students, and we are also ceasing to be financially self-sufficient. We were informed that next year we will receive a subsidy almost one million zlotys lower.
- Without giving up high standards or eliminating any field of education, we want to save on material expenses. And this must happen. If we do not make this decision, someone will fall over in four years. I am a responsible man and I will make this decision. And I am convinced that I will persuade the councilors to support it.
- Since January 2013, I have personally worked to obtain funding for a special school. The district even secured more than 2 million zlotys in its own contribution. But it turned out that EU funds were divided in such a way that funding the construction of the school was impossible, because that is how the Regional Operational Programme was structured.
