The exhibition presents a collection of nearly 300 objects from the collection of the Museum of Ceramics in Bolesławiec. They were selected to show the most important phenomena, characteristic forms and decorations typical of Bolesławiec stoneware. Many visitors were surprised by the wide range of works on display.
The exhibition features, among other things, archaeological vessels from the 15th–17th centuries; jugs and coffee pots covered with lead glaze and decorated with light appliqués, characteristic of Bolesławiec pottery from the 18th–19th centuries; a selection of vessels decorated with stamps from the 20th–21st centuries; and works by outstanding contemporary designers Bronisław Wolanin and Janina Bany-Kozłowska.
The exhibition at the Copper Museum in Legnica will be on display until 30 January 2016. This is another exhibition intended to showcase, in centres in Poland and abroad, the beauty of stoneware produced in Bolesławiec over hundreds of years. In 2016 and 2017, the collections of the Bolesławiec Museum will be presented, among other places, at: the Florian Ceynowa Museum of the Puck Region in Puck, the Jan Dekert Lubusz Museum in Gorzów Wielkopolski, the Museum of the Wschowa Region in Wschowa, the Museum of the Kuyavia and Dobrzyń Land in Włocławek, and the Regional Museum in Chojnów.
