On 17 November, officers from the Traffic Division of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec carried out preventive operations entitled “TRUCK & BUS” on roads throughout the county.
During the operation, officers carefully checked:
- documentation authorizing the transport of passengers
- the driver’s documentation
- the manner in which people and cargo were transported
- the drivers’ sobriety
- whether drivers complied with working-time regulations
In addition, during the operation, officers examined the technical condition of the vehicles, paying particular attention to:
- the steering system
- the braking system
- the condition of the tires
- the vehicle’s lighting
- the condition and additional equipment of the vehicles
During the intensified operation, Bolesławiec police officers:
- confiscated 19 registration certificates
- issued 17 fines, mainly for poor technical condition of the vehicles, and submitted 1 application for punishment
- prevented a truck from continuing its journey because of its poor technical condition
In addition, officers confiscated 2 driving licences from the perpetrators of road accidents who had failed to yield the right of way.
