This year's event was held as the Andrzej Drachal Memorial Andrzej Drachal, honoring the respected physical education teacher, basketball and football coach, and longtime Capsle player.
The friendly teams Ricardo, Kielnia, KGHM Lubin, Szpachelki and Capsle competed in fiercely contested but sportsmanlike matches for the cups of the district governor, the mayor and the head of Zgorzelec Commune.
During the ceremonial opening, attended by Zgorzelec District Governor Artur Bieliński, Deputy Chair of the City Council Waldemar Woźniak and Deputy Head of Zgorzelec Commune Marek Wolanin, a minute of silence was observed in memory of Andrzej Drachal, who died this year, and the victims of the terrorist attack in Paris.
KGHM Lubin and Ricardo each collected 5 points (set ratio 5:3) and received the district governor's and mayor's cups for first place, finishing ahead of Kielnia and Capsle. The Head of Commune's Cup went to Szpachelki, with the participants also extending their thanks for the delicious baked goods.
The team captains selected the tournament's best five players, who were presented with commemorative statuettes.
The nomination went to Paulina Sawicka and Agnieszka Celuch (Andrzej Drachal's daughter) from Szpachelki, Adam Herzog from Kielnia, Marek Kazimierczak from Ricardo, Marek Filc from Lubin and Waldemar Bader from Capsle.
