There were plenty of reasons to celebrate. During its 60 years of operation, the Rural Housewives’ Circle from Ocice has achieved numerous successes, including winning the Competition for Traditional Dishes and the Most Beautiful Easter Compositions, as well as taking fourth place at the Presidential Harvest Festival in Spała in 2014.
“The circle in Ocice has been operating longer than the Bolesławiec municipality has existed,” said Andrzej Dutkowski, the mayor, at the ceremony, “and I can always count on you.”
The mayor, the Bolesławiec county head and deputy county head, representatives of the County Rural Housewives’ Circle—Olga Burdyna, Rozalia Gajewska and Grażyna Łucka—as well as the village head of Ocice, Bożena Długosz, and other invited guests presented wishes and gifts to the circle’s chairwoman, Barbara Omiatacz.
The Ocice Singing Ensemble presented its programme, preparing a song especially for the occasion about the anniversary. The ceremony concluded with a performance by female pupils from the Jerzy Kukuczka Primary School in Ocice.
The presentation of a “work outfit” by Ewa Sondaj and Krzysztof Jakięła caused the most laughter. There was also a birthday cake and dancing.
We wish the Rural Housewives’ Circle in Ocice another 60 years of active work.
