The concert programme consists of jazz standards from the album “Ballads for Ella”, recorded in New York.

Ewa Uryga – vocals. A graduate of the Jazz Department of the Academy of Music in Katowice. Winner of the most important music festivals. She has recorded seven albums, two of which were made in New York with the participation of outstanding American musicians, including the excellent pianist Mark Soskin. She has worked with such stars as Anna Maria Jopek, Dorota Miśkiewicz, Ewa Bem and Włodzimierz Nahorny. She also works regularly with American vocalist Brian Fentress. She has a fantastic voice, but her particular strength is her power of interpretation.

Mark Soskin – piano. One of the most highly regarded jazz pianists in the world. The musician has seven albums to his name, the first of which, “Rhythm Vision”, reached the top ten of the Billboard jazz chart. The artist is currently associated with the prestigious jazz record label Kind of Blue Records as a musician and producer. He is a professor at the famous American institution The Manhattan School of Music in New York.

Luques Curtis – bass. He received a scholarship to the prestigious Berklee College of Music. He has worked with musicians such as Gary Burton, Ralph Peterson, Donald Harrison and Christian Scott. He currently lives in New York. Born in 1983, the musician is one of the world’s leading artists of his generation.

Dorota Piotrowska – an outstanding Polish jazz drummer who permanently resides in New York. She gained valuable musical experience everywhere she studied. While in Amsterdam, she met and performed with the famous trumpeter Saskia Laro, came under the tutelage of Nasheet Waits himself and, at his urging, began studying in New York. She has performed with outstanding musicians from the world of jazz, including Jeremy Pelt, Benito Gonzales, Sam Newsome, Eric Wyatt and Greg Lewis, at the best New York jazz clubs: Irdium, Smalls, Zinc Bar and Lenox Lounge. The artist’s major achievements also included performances at prestigious concert halls around the world: Carnegie Hall and Center Avery Fisher Hall.
