The incident took place on the night of November 2–3 this year in Gromadka Municipality. While conducting a night patrol of a parking area popular with truck drivers, officers from the Kruszyn Police Station noticed that the trailer doors of one of the trucks were open, as well as a small delivery van parked directly next to the truck.
When the officers drove closer to check what was happening, the delivery van suddenly drove away. It turned out that its driver was a 44-year-old resident of Polkowice County, and that the cargo area contained packages obtained through the crime.
The officers established that the men’s clothing found in the detained vehicle came from a break-in at a truck parked nearby. In total, the thief stole 26 packages of clothing worth more than PLN 9,000.
The suspect now faces up to 10 years in prison.
