The training is conducted by police officers from the Prevention Department, Police Staff and the Team of Psychologists of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław, in cooperation with the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Office. Classes were also held with social workers from Zgorzelec County.
Social workers from social welfare centres in Lower Silesia were shown methods of initiating first contact with a person under their care in a crisis situation or with a confrontational person. They practised assessing a specific situation in terms of identifying risk factors. Social workers from our county also learned self-defence techniques and how to control their own emotions in difficult situations.
The training initiative is the result of identifying the threats experienced by social workers in their work and is a response to the expectations directed at the police by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy.
In total, more than three thousand people will take part in the organised training sessions.
