Dariusz Kwaśniewski will work on the Bolesławiec County Board starting today. His main task will be overseeing the county’s acquisition of EU funds. Kwaśniewski will also supervise the work of the Department of Education, Culture, Physical Culture and Sport, where he previously served as head.
The election of the new board member was preceded by a discussion about whether employing another person on the board was justified. Opposition councillors accused the County Office authorities of creating an unnecessary position. County head Cezary Przybylski argued that obtaining funding is very important and therefore there must be someone directly responsible for it.
In the secret ballot, Dariusz Kwaśniewski was supported by 13 councillors, while 8 voted against him. The new board member will receive a monthly gross salary of PLN 7,500 for his work.
Besides Kwaśniewski, the County Board consists of four other people: County head Cezary Przybylski, deputy county head Stanisław Chwojnicki, councillor Ewa Potyszka and councillor Jan Kozak.
