As in previous years, the police and municipal guards are appealing to residents, whenever possible, not to travel to the cemetery in their own cars. This will help avoid troublesome traffic jams and enable everyone who, due to age or disability, cannot reach their loved ones’ graves by any means other than car or taxi to get there. Those who decide to leave their cars at home can use municipal bus route “50”, which, at the mayor’s request, will run more frequently from October 28 to November 4.
Additional “50” services from October 28 to November 4
- from Orzeszkowej Street towards the city centre – times: 10:30, 16:30 and 18:30
- from Lubańska Street towards the cemetery – times: 11:15, 17:15 and 19:15
- from the cemetery towards Orzeszkowej Street – times: 11:26, 17:26 and 19:26
- from the cemetery towards Lubańska Street – times: 10:56, 16:56 and 18:56.
For those who must travel to the cemetery by car, we remind you:
- during the All Saints’ period, stopping will be prohibited along the entire length of Bohaterów II Armii Wojska Polskiego Street in the direction of the city centre, to ensure smooth traffic flow
- stopping areas, not parking spaces, will be designated for taxis and cars bringing elderly and disabled people at both main entrances to the cemetery: the gate opposite the chapel on the Słowiańska Street side and the gate on the Bohaterów II Armii WP Street side.
- taxi parking spaces will be designated near the Eagle Monument at the military cemetery
- additional marked parking spaces will be designated at and near the cemetery (see the map). The police and municipal guards will provide information about parking locations.
Stalls, toilets and cleaning:
- the sale of grave candles and flowers will be permitted only in designated areas, and deliveries to the stalls will be possible only at times agreed in advance
- five portable toilets will be installed at the cemetery. The toilets in the chapel building will also be open
- The Municipal Communal Services Company will monitor the condition of the containers and remove rubbish on an ongoing basis whenever possible.
