The plot of “Anatomy of Evil” recalls the most widely publicized unsolved criminal cases of recent years. The leading roles are played by Polish Film Award winner – Eagle recipient for his performance in “The Lynx” Krzysztof Stroiński, winner of the Zbigniew Cybulski Award and the award for a debut at the Gdynia Festival Marcin Kowalczyk (“You Are God”), as well as Piotr Głowacki (“Gods”), Andrzej Seweryn (“Little Rose”), Łukasz Simlat (“The Kindergarten Teacher”), Michalina Olszańska (“Jack Strong”) and Anna Dereszowska (“Lejdis”).
The cinematographer for “Anatomy of Evil” is Michał Englert, a winner at the Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia and the Sundance Festival (“Lasting”). The music was composed by award-winning composer and music producer Ludek Drizhal (“Entanglement”, “Deadly Countdown”).
A hitman nicknamed “Lulek” (Stroiński) is conditionally released from prison. Soon afterward, a prosecutor (Głowacki), who had brought about his arrest several years earlier, makes him an offer he cannot refuse. In exchange for a large sum of money, a clean criminal record and the opportunity to leave the country discreetly, “Lulek” is to eliminate the head of the Central Bureau of Investigation. The killer recruits Staszek (Kowalczyk), a sniper expelled from the army who was made a scapegoat for an unsuccessful mission in Afghanistan. Pretending to be a counterintelligence officer, “Lulek” convinces the man that he has been chosen for a special assignment and that, if he carries it out, he will have a chance to return to the army. During preparations for the assassination, Staszek begins to suspect “Lulek”'s true intentions. Meanwhile, the people who commissioned the operation are pressing for it to be accelerated. A deadly countdown begins.
