Several reports concerning thefts from flats and garden allotment huts were filed with the District Police Headquarters in Lubin. Wallets disappeared above all, but also a laptop, tablet and digital television decoder. From the outset, officers from the criminal division of the Lubin police worked on the case. Based on the information gathered and as a result of operational work, they identified and arrested the perpetrator of the thefts. He turned out to be a 33-year-old resident of Wrocław, who was placed in police custody.
The man from Wrocław walked around stairwells looking for open doors to flats. When he found one, he went inside and stole items within his reach. When the residents realised that an intruder was in their home, he—in no way disconcerted—asked whether they... might have some work for him, and then left. The perpetrator acted in a similar way in allotment gardens. He took advantage of allotment gardeners carrying out various tasks. He would then enter the hut unnoticed and rob it.
The man from Wrocław had already been convicted multiple times for similar offences. He now faces up to five years in prison.
