  • The “Care for Bedridden Patients and People After a Stroke” workshop will cover the nature of ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, the symptoms and effects of stroke, caring for a patient at home (adapting the home to their needs, positioning the patient in bed, preventing pressure sores, and principles of feeding patients), as well as speech disorders and rehabilitation. It will take place at Primary School No. 10 in Lubin on October 22 (Thursday) at 5:00 p.m.. It will be led by Grażyna Filipowicz, a nursing graduate with many years of experience and a neurologopedist. Participation in the workshop is free and anonymous.   • The “Help, I Live in Stress” workshop will take place on Saturday, November 6, from 10:00 a.m. to approximately 2:00 p.m. at Primary School No. 10 in Lubin. It is intended for adults who want to discover their own ways of coping with stress and the main sources of their stress, learn about the relationship between stress and health, identify their stress-management style, and truly relax. The workshop program includes some theory, plenty of practice, and relaxation exercises. The workshop will be led by Beata Bochnia, a pedagogy graduate, family therapist, academic teacher, and teacher of school and preschool education, as well as a graduate of the Krakow School of Family Therapy, the Wrocław Academy of Tutors, and the Matrik School of Trainers. Participation in the workshop is free and anonymous. Registration is open until November 2 by phone or email to the Counseling Center. Note: participants should bring a pillow and an exercise mat!
  • The “Closer – Full Connection” workshop for fathers is an event for men who want to strengthen their fathering skills and become heroes to their children. It will take place at Primary School No. 10 in Lubin on November 14 (Saturday), from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.. The “Closer” workshop aims to provide methods for deepening the father-child relationship. The sessions are based on four pillars of effective fatherhood: involvement, constancy, knowing the child, and care. The workshops will be led by trainers from the Tato.Net initiative.   • A first aid course for parents of infants and young children will be held once again at our Counseling Center at the turn of November and December this year. The course will cover topics including assessing an infant’s or child’s condition in the event of an accident, responding to loss of consciousness, resuscitation and basic life-saving procedures, and responding to allergic reactions, choking, bleeding, burns, seizures, and poisoning. The course will last approximately three hours and will take place in the afternoon.
