September 19, 2015, is a date that will remain in the memory not only of the residents of Bolesławiec. On that day, the founding meeting of the Polish Psychopedagogical Society (PTPP) was held at the International Ceramics Centre in Bolesławiec. The meeting began at 6:00 p.m. and was chaired by Dawid Kołodziej – a pedagogue, therapist and coach, and Kornel Musiał – a social activist and a licensed pedagogue in training. The aims of the new association and the activities to be undertaken on behalf of the Polish Psychopedagogical Society were presented at the meeting.
There were also speeches by honorary guests. Support was expressed in a few words by Wojciech Kasprzyk – a Councillor of the Bolesławiec City Council, Krzysztof Wojtas – a journalist and representative of the Karkonosze State University of Applied Sciences in Jelenia Góra, Olgierd Poniźnik – Mayor of the Gryfów Śląski Municipality and Town, and Ewa Radziewicz – an adviser in entrepreneurship in social and educational services and an expert in image building.
During the meeting, several very important resolutions were passed, including the establishment of the association, the election of its authorities and the adoption of its statutes. Dawid Kołodziej became President of the Polish Psychopedagogical Society, while Kornel Musiał became its Deputy President.
As we learned from the PTPP statutes: “The overriding aim of the Society is to develop and popularize psychopedagogy, pedagogy, coaching, psychology, sociology and philosophy as academic disciplines and professions, and to take particular care that these disciplines – in accordance with social values – serve to provide assistance in social life. Furthermore, the Society aims to provide support, assistance, pro-social education and social prevention for families, institutions and businesses.”
It is worth mentioning that the PTPP is based in Bolesławiec; however, as the association’s initiators themselves say, we intend to operate literally everywhere. Our aim is to help other people, care for their proper development and promote activities related to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other national and international legal instruments. In the future, we want to create regional branches and special sections whose activities will cover all of Poland. The meeting itself was only our first step.
The entire ceremony ended with a toast and refreshments. Its organizers sincerely thank all the founding members and guests for attending the event. You can learn more about the Polish Psychopedagogical Society on its official website: www.psychopedagog.eu
