This afternoon, near Bolesławiec, a ceremony was held to sign contracts for the construction of a 50-kilometre section of the A4 Jędrzychowice–Krzyżowa motorway. The contracts were signed at the site of the planned transport interchange, between the localities of Łąka and Dąbrowa.

Within two years, a 50-kilometre section of motorway will connect Jędrzychowice and Krzyżowa. The investment will cost more than €245 million. The new motorway section will connect to the recently opened Krzywa–Wrocław section. At present, the A-4 motorway is 381 km long. The motorway connection between Jędrzychowice and Rzeszów is to be completed in 2013.

The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński, Transport Minister Jerzy Polaczek, Health Minister Zbigniew Religa, representatives of the companies that will build the motorway, as well as the provincial authorities, the authorities of Bolesławiec, the authorities of Bolesławiec County, journalists and photojournalists. After the contracts were signed, Piotr Roman, President of Bolesławiec, presented Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński with a ceramic cup.
