Officers from the police station in Kruszyn apprehended a 39-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County. Police findings indicate that the man had been stealing from his workplace for a long time.
Over the last several months of his employment, the 39-year-old removed, among other things, gas and water valves, heating lamps, aluminium strips, copper pipes and a compressor from the company premises. The losses were estimated at more than PLN 19,000.
While searching the premises occupied by the suspect, police officers recovered some of the stolen property.
The man confessed to the thefts. He stated that he sold the items obtained through the crime at non-ferrous metal recycling centres and spent the money on his own needs.
He now faces up to five years in prison.
