Officers from the Police Station in Kruszyn identified and detained two men suspected of stealing advertising boards together with their steel structures.
The suspects are residents of Warta Bolesławiecka municipality, aged 21 and 26. The stolen property was located in Bolesławiec County, near the A4 motorway.
The police determined that in April this year the men jointly dismantled one complete structure and part of another. They then used one of the detainees’ cars to transport the loot away piece by piece, later selling it at a non-ferrous metal collection point.
Both men, who had previously been in conflict with the law, confessed. The losses caused by their actions were estimated at over PLN 40,000.
Both detainees face up to five years in prison.
