Police officers from the Economic Crime Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra detained a 36-year-old man suspected of possessing illegal tobacco and alcohol.
At the detainee’s apartment, officers found approximately 300 kg of cut tobacco, 102 packs of counterfeit cigarettes, 57 packs bearing excise stamps from another country, and 20 one-litre bottles of illegal alcohol.
It was estimated that if these goods had reached the market, the State Treasury could have lost PLN 220,000. The 36-year-old faces up to two years in prison.
