From Friday, September 18, a Polish adventure comedy based on motifs from “Klub włóczykijów”, a novel by Edmund Niziurski, a master of young-adult literature; the drama “Czy naprawdę wierzysz?”, a story about the powerful gift that lies dormant in every person; and “Everest”, a spectacular action thriller based on one of the most tragic expeditions in the history of Mount Everest. The film will be shown on our screen in a digital version, as well as in 3D, which we particularly recommend for its visual experience.
In the film “Klub włóczykijów”, the main characters, Kornel and Maks, spend their holidays in front of a computer screen and have no intention of returning to boring real life. Everything changes when the family black sheep, Uncle Dionizy, suddenly visits. The unpredictable relative draws the boys into the real world, full of unexpected events and extraordinary characters. Under his guidance, the Klub włóczykijów sets off on a journey to find a treasure hidden years earlier by Kornel’s great-grandfather. Matters become complicated when cunning bandits also pick up the valuable trail: Dr Kadryll (Karolak) and his inept assistant Wieńczysław Nieszczególny (Mecwaldowski). A daring race against time begins, full of comic mistakes and surprising twists. An adventure like this happens once in a lifetime!
“Czy naprawdę wierzysz?” is the next, after “Bóg nie umarł”, very well-made film about God’s plan for each of us, the need to stand up for our own convictions, and love of one’s neighbour. Twelve different attitudes toward life, twelve entirely different personalities, whose paths unexpectedly cross... Each of the characters—often against their own convictions—will discover the power of Christ’s cross. The starting point for the story is a chance meeting between a street preacher and the parish priest of a local church. It makes the latter realise how important action in the name of good is in true faith, alongside sincere prayer...
The spectacular action thriller “Everest” is based on one of the most tragic expeditions in the history of Mount Everest. It all happened in May 1996, when 15 climbers died in the snows of Mount Everest in a single day. The film tells the story of a group of eight mountaineers who, led by Rob Hall, attempt to confront the extreme conditions of the inaccessible summit. A struggle against deadly cold and snowstorms, a struggle for oxygen and survival. “Everest” is a film about the limits of human endurance—physical and psychological.
The Polish war film “Karbala”, which tells the story of the mission of Polish soldiers in Iraq in 2004 and the defence of City Hall, will remain on the Forum cinema screen for another week.
