In mid-August this year, a victim reported to the Police Station in Karpacz and notified officers that his mobile phone and ATM card had been stolen. The man also reported an attempted break-in to his account. It turned out that when he went to the bank to cancel the card, he was informed that someone had tried to withdraw PLN 500 from his account.

While carrying out activities in the case, police officers identified and detained a person suspected of the offence based on the information they had gathered and surveillance footage. It turned out to be a 36-year-old resident of Karpacz.

During a search of his apartment, officers found marijuana from which nearly 70 retail portions could be prepared, as well as several portions of amphetamine. The man claimed that he had found the card in the street.

He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
