Churchill is known to Polish audiences for such hits as “The Decorator” and “Moments of Weakness.” Both plays, directed by Andrzej Rozhin, enjoyed enormous success on stages in Warsaw and beyond.
The (Im)perfect Scam, or Who Saw Miss Flint, is the essence of British humor. It is an intelligent, charming and expertly constructed comedy of manners that has hardly left the bill since its premiere at Theatre Royal Windsor in 1984. Translated into 15 languages and performed around the world, it becomes more topical and popular year after year. After all, it is difficult to find a more current and eternally relevant subject than TAXES. Tax returns keep even the most law-abiding citizen awake at night, while the words “Tax Office” send shivers down the spine.
We read about major scams and their “heroes” on the front pages of newspapers with indignation and… envy. How can you outwit the tax authorities? Where can you flee so that the taxman’s tentacles cannot reach you? What can you do to avoid handing over your more or less hard-earned money to officials? The heroes of Churchill & Yeldhman’s play have found a way!
