The mailing of the “Information on the Insured Person’s Account at ZUS” began in the second half of June. – This is a huge logistical undertaking. In the postal market, such a volume of correspondence sent by a single institution is rare. Nevertheless, we managed to print and send all the letters before the deadline – said Michał Jonczynski, vice-president of the Social Insurance Institution.

The “Information on the Insured Person’s Account at ZUS” was sent to all people who were subject to social insurance, even briefly, and who have contributions recorded in an individual account at the Social Insurance Institution. From the letter, insured persons can learn how much in indexed contributions they have already accumulated and how much was paid in over the past two years, broken down by individual months.

The correspondence included information about the amount transferred to OFE and recorded in the second-pillar sub-account at ZUS. People aged at least 35 also have the hypothetical pension amount provided in two variants in the “Information on the Account.” The first variant is the amount that could be received for contributions already accumulated, while the second is the amount at retirement age. When calculating the benefit in the second variant, ZUS supplements the amount of contributions already collected with a hypothetical amount of contributions that may still be collected in the future—this is the average based on the previous years of professional activity.

It is worth reading the “Information on the Account” and carefully checking the amounts recorded in it. It concerns our future.
