On Saturday, fourth-league TOP Bolesławiec played an away match against Chrobry Głogów. Unfortunately, the Bolesławiec team suffered its fourth defeat, losing 1–3 in sets (22–25, 25–20, 24–26, 23–25). Bogusław Mienculewicz’s players came close to bringing valuable points back from Głogów. However, the team once again paid the so-called “rookie tax.” The young players need more match experience, after which better results can be expected. Victory was close, but in the closing stages of the third and fourth sets, the boys’ nerves failed them and they lacked composure.
Cadets’ Tournament
On Sunday, the second Lower Silesian Championship Cadets’ Tournament was held in the meeting hall at I LO. Three teams took part in the tournament: Rent-Bud Złotoryja, Ikar Legnica and TOP Bolesławiec. Our cadets defeated Złotoryja 3–1. Unfortunately, the match between TOP Bolesławiec and Ikar Legnica ended with a 0–3 defeat for our volleyball players. The tournament’s best player was Wojtek Marcinkiewicz from Bolesławiec. After the second tournament, Jerzy Nastula’s players are second in the table.
This Saturday at 5:00 p.m., fourth-league TOP will play its next match in the I LO sports hall. This time, our team’s opponent will be “Burza Wrocław.”
