– Thirty young, smiling, open, cheerful people full of positive emotions—the participants in our international language camp. Poles from Bosnia and Poles from Poland. A performance summarising the summer workshops: colourful, full of dance and song, and family-oriented. See you... next time—this is how warmly Bolesławiec County head Dariusz Kwaśniewski said goodbye to the Bosnian youth who, during the camp, were learning about the homeland of their ancestors.
The choice of the final performance’s subject was not accidental either. After all, every Polish child knows the legend of the dragon. This time, it was presented in a humorous, colourful way developed during theatre, literary and dance classes conducted by Aneta Ćwieluch, Katarzyna Pranić and Anna Idkowiak—instructors at the Youth Cultural Centre.
The performance used the languages of art, colours, gestures and sounds—understandable to every nation. As a result, the so-called language barriers posed no problem, especially since the young Bosnians diligently learned the basics of Polish while having fun, creating things during the workshops and visiting the region’s tourist attractions.
The original performance received a standing ovation, and at the end the Bolesławiec County head presented gifts to the campers and acknowledgements to everyone involved in organising this important undertaking, which was also supported by the Ministry of National Education.
