The Mayor of Prnjavor, Siniša Gatarić, expressed his joy at the international integration of Polish and Bosnian youth. The first part of Friday’s visit was planned in the YCC workshops, the places where our colonists engage in creative activities every day.
As part of an art project aimed at creating costumes for the ceramic parade under the supervision of instructors Katarzyna Sas and Barbara Bednarowicz, participants in the Bosnian-Polish day camp made masks and costumes from paper.
After these efforts, everyone was invited to the conference room of the Bolesławiec County Office for a well-deserved sweet treat. During the meeting, the Mayor of Prnjavor, Deputy County Head Marian Haniszewski and full-time member of the County Board Stanisław Chwojnicki wished the children a wonderful holiday and the preservation of their best memories of their stay in Poland.
The following day, during the ceramic parade, we saw the result of the work of young Poles from Bosnia and their local friends. Together, over many days, they created unusual costumes decorated with the characteristic stamps of Bolesławiec ceramics in the YCC workshops.
They also used Balkan motifs in a colorful banner that led their procession in the parade. They added Bosnian songs, creating an atmospheric street performance.
The “Our Bosnia – the Polish language unites nations and generations” project is also supported by the Ministry of National Education.
