The Third Division of Sport Bridge competition began on Saturday. Two of our teams, “Prjavor Bolesławiec” and “Pogrom Bolesławiec”, entered the competition. The first matches took place in Lwówek Śląski.“Prnjavor Bolesławiec” won all five matches, taking the lead in the table with 108 VP. Bolesławiec’s team defeated:
- Piast Lubań 22:8
- Bolko Szczawno Zdrój 20:10
- ODK Jelenia Góra 24:6
- Kwisa Świeradów 22:8
- Pogrom Bolesławiec 20:10
The team played with: Jarosław Molenda (captain), Jerzy Olenderek, Antoni Ochot, Artur Winkler, Andrzej Kaźmierczak and Jacek Rutowicz. Such a successful start to the season is a club record. Never before in the history of our team’s third-division appearances had it managed to earn so many points during a single tournament weekend (five matches).
The second Bolesławiec team performed much worse. After the Lwówek competition, “Pogrom” is bottom of the league table with 44 VP. This result consists of one draw with Kwisa Świeradów, 15:15, and four defeats. The “Pogrom” team played with: Roland Lippik, Jacek Baranowski, Krzysztof Grela, Tadeusz Kowalik, Jerzy Zatylny, Jerzy Snopczyński and Sławomir Zimniak (captain).
The next league tournament weekend will take place in November in Brzeg Dolny. Both Bolesławiec teams will then play another five matches. The first qualifying phase will conclude in December, after which the six leading teams will compete for promotion to the Second Division.
