An alert resident of Lubin called the duty officer at the Lubin police headquarters after noticing from the window of his apartment on the Polne housing estate that a man was stealing hubcaps from a parked Audi.
A patrol from the Prevention Department of the Lubin police headquarters went to the scene immediately. It turned out that the suspect had four previously stolen hubcaps in his backpack.
The perpetrator, a 37-year-old resident of Lubin, admitted to the crime. He explained that he was unemployed and that the money from odd jobs was not enough to live on, so he decided to steal the hubcaps and then sell them.
The value of the stolen property was estimated at approximately 300 zlotys, meaning that the man will be held liable for an offense punishable by arrest, restriction of liberty or a fine.
