Years ago, a playground for children was built on this site. It is popular with the youngest visitors and their guardians. The outdoor gym will make this recreational area even more attractive.
As part of the Legnica Civic Budget, two investments have already been completed: a gym on Tatrzańska Street in the Piekary A estate and the construction of a recreational area at Primary School No. 2O. Work is well advanced on the construction of a sidewalk on Struga Street, a playground and basketball court on Goździkowa Street together with an outdoor gym, the redevelopment of the sports field on Oświęcimska Street, and a playground at Primary School No. 9.
What about the remaining investments?
As Ryszard Lisiecki, deputy director of the Municipal Housing Management Board, reports, a contractor was selected in the second tender to build a recreational and sports centre on Żwirki i Wigury Street. The first tender was annulled because the bids failed to meet the requirements due to their excessive price.
An agreement has also been signed with a contractor who will build a calisthenics park for strength training in the city park. The equipment is currently being collected and assembled at the workshop. Once complete, it will be installed in the training-court area. There was a problem with the last of the 10 projects selected in last year’s LBO edition—the construction of a car park on Wielkiej Niedźwiedzicy Street—due to conflicts with power cables. This issue has now been resolved. As Andrzej Szymkowiak, director of the Municipal Roads Authority, reports, the investor has applied for a building permit. Once it is issued, a tender will be announced to select the contractor.
