Mariusz Lickiewicz, head of Via Sudetica, remained reserved at the conference while Bogusław Nowak spoke emotionally about Gliniada and accused the city authorities of being hostile toward the event. We described the entire matter in the article Argument at the conference: Nowak took issue with the city over money.
Below is Mariusz Lickiewicz's strong response, which he published on Facebook:
At yesterday's press conference concerning this year's Bolesławiec Ceramics Festival, “Papa Glinolud” accused me of not taking an active part in the happening. This is of very little importance, because there have been plenty of such absurd accusations over the past two years, but it is an opportunity for a brief summary of several years of work on this event.
https://istotne.pl/…/awantura-na-konferencji-nowak-czepial-s…As a reminder, I am posting a few photos from the several dozen I have “as a keepsake.” I suspect that Mr. Nowak would not even be able to say where they were taken—I, however, can recognize every place where Gliniada took place in 2011–2013. Because I was the one who organized and handled those trips from start to finish.
But Mr. Nowak “is right”—NO ONE EVER DID ANYTHING FOR GLINIADA.
There was no whole host of volunteers or members of VIA SUDETICA (I will not name everyone known to all, because they may not want to be associated with what is happening now) who worked hard for years, managed things and gave part of their private and professional lives so that GLINIADA ONLY FOR MR. NOWAK could develop.
There were no Bolesławiec ceramists who, in practically unlimited numbers, supported GLINIADA ONLY FOR MR. NOWAK with clay slip.
There were no local-government authorities that, although perhaps insufficiently, nevertheless supported GLINIADA ONLY FOR MR. NOWAK.
There were no thousands of Bolesławiec residents and tourists who, believing in the idea that “we are all made of the same clay,” took part in the happening and worked to develop GLINIADA ONLY FOR MR. NOWAK.
There were none of our children who naturally became the “faces” of GLINIADA ONLY FOR MR. NOWAK.
There were no hundreds of emails, letters or agreements inextricably linked to GLINIADA ONLY FOR MR. NOWAK
There was no VIA SUDETICA association, from whose funds GLINIADA ONLY FOR MR. NOWAK was also financed.
There were no hundreds of hours devoted to plans and ideas for developing GLINIADA ONLY FOR MR. NOWAK—ideas effectively “killed” in the bud.
There were no hundreds of hours spent on phone calls, packing, cleaning and arranging trips for GLINIADA ONLY FOR MR. NOWAK.All of this, for many long years, was done ONLY BY MR. NOWAK for GLINIADA ONLY FOR MR. NOWAK, from the “blood, sweat and tears” of MR. NOWAK and MR. NOWAK alone.
Quoting a classic:
“AND NOW, DEAR CHILDREN, KISS THE BEAR ON THE ASS” ....
And not for free, but for 45 grand ...
