The Wzgórze Zamkowe Cultural Centre in Lubin invites visitors to an exhibition marking the 75th anniversary of the participation of Polish airmen in the Battle of Britain. The display consists of elements intended to illustrate and bring visitors closer to the subject of Polish involvement in the 1940 Battle of Britain. It features painted figures and symbols associated with this wartime episode, which, thanks to the extraordinary courage of our ancestors, saved Great Britain and changed the course of the war in favour of the Allies.

The background to the entire exhibition is particularly interesting, including an approximately life-size Hurricane Mark I fighter aircraft, painted on canvas, which Polish airmen flew during this battle. For the youngest visitors, the Centre has prepared a fighter-flight simulator, where everyone can try their hand at aerial combat.

“The exhibition will be expanded with portraits of the airmen who took part in the battle. After the exhibition, these will be awarded to people selected by draw,” say the organisers. To receive such a painting, several conditions must be met: like and share the Facebook fan page 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

Additionally, every five-hundredth person visiting the exhibition will receive a picture—a hand-painted fighter aircraft from the Second World War. The first one available to win is the famous Japanese Mitsubishi A6M, known as the “Zero”.

The exhibition organisers also encourage visitors to visit the blog dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
