As Ryszard Lisiecki, deputy director of ZGM, reports, the tender will be decided on July 29. Renovation work on these three tenement houses has been scheduled under a two-year financing cycle. Its completion is planned for August 2016, meaning the work will in fact take approximately 12 months.
The work will include the renovation of roofs, stairwells and basements, as well as the replacement of installations, windows, doors and, of course, façades. The investment will be financed from the city budget. Further tenement houses in this part of the city will be revitalized in the following years.
Let us recall that last year work was completed on the restoration of three tenement houses at 8 and 9 Bolesława Chrobrego Street and 1 Henryka Pobożnego Street. These buildings were renovated and put back into use also thanks to funds from the city budget, amounting to nearly PLN 1.3 million.
Earlier, as part of the EU-funded project “Renovation of Degraded Urban Areas,” comprising seven tasks, 22 tenement houses in the area of H. Pobożnego and B. Chrobrego streets were restored. New road and sidewalk surfaces were laid, a play garden was built, and functional communal courtyard spaces were created. The renovated Villa Bolka von Richtchofena became home to the Integration and Prevention Centre. As part of the programme, the sidewalk and roadways on Libana Street were also reconstructed. The total cost of the work exceeded PLN 23 million, with funding accounting for as much as 70 percent.
