The work involves demolishing the sidewalk and removing the curbs along Wrocławska Street (from the end of the bus stop to the newly constructed street by the Tax Office). A new carriageway will be built here, while the sidewalk will be moved farther into the site.
During the work, a temporary new sidewalk was created for pedestrians. As reported by the Traffic Management Department, half a metre of the right traffic lane will be fenced off to ensure the workers’ safety. To maintain smooth traffic flow for buses and trucks, this lane will be widened. The left lane, meanwhile, will be narrowed by half a metre. Road workers are asking passenger cars and lighter vehicles to use this lane. The traffic-management changes should not cause any major disruptions.
The Municipal Office reminds residents that the construction of the parking lot on Jordana Street has already been completed as part of this project. The project “Construction of a transport network for the area of economic and social activation between Wrocławska Street and Zielona Street and Jordana Street and Orła Białego Street in Legnica” will connect the Tax Office building to the city’s transport network.
As part of this project, a 55-metre-long asphalt exit lane from Wrocławska Street will be built, with a carriageway width of 3.5 m. Further on, towards Jordana Street, a new 220-metre-long street paved with concrete blocks will be constructed, with a carriageway width of 6 m. Sidewalks paved with blocks will be built on both sides, 2–2.75 m wide. Along the section from Wrocławska Street to Jordana Street, 52 parking spaces will be created, including spaces for people with disabilities.
The parking lot on Jordana Street already has a further 22 parking spaces.
