All parade participants will set off on Saturday, 22 August, at 12:00 from Kościelna Street. They will circle the Market Square and proceed to the municipal stadium, where the final fiesta will take place. As part of the Festival of Cultures parade, a competition for the most interesting costume presentation will be decided. The competition is open to everyone, both individuals and groups.

One such group, as the head of Via Sudetica tells us, will be people painted with clay. Let us recall that Bogusław Nowak reserved the name “Gliniada” so that no one else could organize a parade under that name. This did not prevent the event’s long-time organizers from encouraging people to parade in the familiar format and once again delighting visitors and Bolesławiec residents with “clay stylizations,” although no longer under the name “Gliniada”.

Additionally, cycling enthusiasts can take part in the new “Skołowane stempelki” competition, in which not only the parade participants’ costumes but also bicycle stylizations will be judged. Whoever decorates a bicycle most creatively, using the traditional patterns of Bolesławiec products, will win. There is a lot to compete for: attractive prizes await all winners.

What does a group participating in the Festival of Cultures parade gain?

  • the opportunity to present its activities to a broad audience
  • promotion of its activities through contact with the audience
  • the opportunity to appear on radio and television
  • participation in the competition for the most interesting presentation
  • good fun and all-encompassing joy

All it takes is a little imagination and creativity. You should prepare a costume inspired by Bolesławiec ceramics: clothing matching the colors and shapes of the ceramics, makeup, headwear and other props. The possibilities are numerous, just like the patterns of ceramics produced by Bolesławiec factories.

Applications by 10 August 2015 should be sent by post, fax to 75 644 21 47, or email to festiwalkultur@viasudetica.pl, or delivered in person to the BOK-MCC secretariat at plac Piłsudskiego 1 c, 59-700 Bolesławiec.

The application form for participation in the parade, as well as in the competition for the most interesting costume, and the regulations can be downloaded from: www.swietoceramiki.pl, www.bok.boleslawiec.pl
