One of the items on the agenda of the second part of the 10th session of the Bolesławiec City Council, held on Wednesday, 1 July, was the election of the first deputy chair of the Council. The election was held in connection with the death and, consequently, the expiry of the councillor’s mandate of Alojzy Skóra.
There was only one candidate – Eugeniusz Kowalski, a historian and councillor from the Forum caucus. E. Kowalski’s candidacy was put forward by the head of this councillors’ caucus, Dariusz Filistyński.
The ballot committee consisted of: Zdzisław Abramowicz, chair of the Bolesławiec Land and Law and Justice councillors’ caucus; Piotr Klasa of the Local Government Platform; and Jan Leon Stasiak of Forum.
Eugeniusz Kowalski was elected first deputy chair of the Council with 17 votes in favour. One councillor voted against and one abstained.
