The performance began with the children’s group Błękitne Nutki, consisting of: Oliwia Kłoczko, Karolina Michalczuk, Oliwia Jakubowska, Natalia Jędrak, Martyna Sudół, Paulina Zarazińska. This was followed by a selection of solo songs and duets performed by the Sound group. The final three songs, divided into vocal parts, were performed by a youth group of 14 members: Alicja Myśliwiec, Aleksandra Kulesza, Wiktoria Jędryczka, Celestyna Skóra, Tomislav Pranić, Anna Koza, Justyna Scholz, Marcelina Walenga, Gabriela Widera, Nina Wąsik, Sara Paczosik and Łukasz Chmielewski. They performed “Stanie się cud” and “Stare mury” from the repertoire of Marek Grechuta, as well as “Time of my life” from the cult film Dirty Dancing.
Agata Pińczuk - Byrdzy supervised the selection of the repertoire for the “Songs of the 1980s” concert, matching the songs to the performers’ vocal abilities and temperaments while also adjusting the appropriate keys. The participants perfectly captured the unique atmosphere of the 1980s, both through their interpretation of the songs and their stage image. The audience rewarded them with applause after each performance, showing great affection and enthusiasm.
At the end, the instructor thanked all the participants for their enthusiasm and commitment during the three months of preparations for the concert, as well as for their year-round activity in the classes. She gave special thanks to Marcelina Walenga and Justyna Scholz, this year’s two graduating students who had attended the vocal classes the longest. There were also tears of emotion.
The concert, which lasted more than an hour, was rewarded with thunderous applause. We are eagerly looking forward to more concerts by the Song Studio participants, which operates daily at the BOK - MCC Cultural Integration Centre. Anyone interested in singing is invited to attend classes next year. Registration will open soon at the BOK-MCC Tourist Information Point.
