During the operation, officers from the Jelenia Góra traffic police issued fines to 183 vehicle drivers, mainly for reckless driving, overtaking on a double solid line or ignoring traffic lights. In addition, officers seized 36 registration certificates due to various technical defects.
Moreover, 17 collisions occurred on our roads. The most common causes were failure to adjust speed to the road conditions, an improper overtaking manoeuvre and rear-ending another vehicle.
Police officers also detained 3 intoxicated vehicle drivers and 3 drivers who violated court bans. The driving licences of 10 drivers were also confiscated for exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h in a built-up area.
In total, police officers intervened nearly 300 times during the long weekend.
