During the long June weekend, 9 road collisions occurred in Bolesławiec County. Police officers also detained 2 intoxicated drivers.
This is relatively few, as 100 drunk drivers were identified and removed from traffic throughout Lower Silesia. From Wednesday to Sunday, a total of 47 road accidents were recorded in our province. One person died and 58 were injured.
The fatal accident occurred on 7 June this year in Zgorzelec County. A 66-year-old man died after, while driving a car, he suddenly left the road and hit a concrete culvert.
From Wednesday to Sunday, 444 accidents occurred nationwide, in which 46 people died and 533 were injured. Once again, the most common causes of road incidents were excessive speed combined with recklessness, improper overtaking, failure to yield the right of way, and alcohol. During the long weekend, police officers across Poland detained 1,619 drunk drivers.
