The competition was organized by DWK OHP, HP in Góra, the Town and Municipality Office in Góra, and the District Sports and Recreation Centre, with the participation of other institutions actively operating in Góra.

The competition is a form of rivalry between teams in military, rescue and firefighting skills, as well as knowledge of civic training and, above all, physical fitness.

The Labour Corps, the Construction School Complex and the town of Bolesławiec were represented by the following students:

  • Dawid Braszko (class IIIwt)
  • Grzegorz Kapusta (class IIIwt)
  • Daniel Żukowski (class IIt)
  • Łukasz Borowski (class Iw).

The competitors prepared for the championships under the guidance of the Labour Corps staff, while firefighters from the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec also provided assistance. We sincerely thank the Commandant and the firefighters for their support.

Both the level of the exercises and the competition among 21 teams from Lower Silesia were very high. The boys took part in eight team events, including:

providing assistance to an injured person – pre-medical first aid, in which the team had to help the casualty and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation

  • throwing a grenade from the appropriate position at a target located within a rectangle of specified dimensions
  • a crossing, where the station was built from tyres and the task was to move between the tyres using a footbridge—a board—set up by the team
  • an obstacle course – the competitors put on masks, helmets and military backpacks and had to complete an obstacle course made of tyres set out along the route, as well as crawl under obstacles
  • an air rifle – a shooting competition
  • transporting a wounded person on the battlefield
  • firefighting events – two events involving fire hoses and completing an obstacle course.

In the first of the two final events, the team, wearing firefighting clothing, also had to transport water from a water tank to a barrel, collecting as much water as possible, and then pour it into a portable water pump. Using the water collected in the pump, they propelled a rubber ball to the greatest possible distance. Correct task completion and the best possible time were important. In the second firefighting event, in addition to the obstacle course, the competitors had to connect and disconnect the guide and the suction strainer, and match firefighting accessories with the prepared pictures. Time and correct task completion counted in this event. Penalty points could be awarded in each event, providing an additional difficulty.

The team from Bolesławiec took second place and stood on the podium. The boys demonstrated excellent physical fitness, intelligence and ingenuity. We sincerely thank the team for its excellent representation, congratulate them and invite them on their next adventures, which are coming soon…
