The competition is organized by the WSB Universities. Of the teams that reached the highest stage Weronika Klimczyk and Angelika Szewczyk (Karolina Mielnik was in the reserve group) finished among the top ten. Jacek Maj is the supervisor of the high school students and the club.
The high school students have pursued their maritime passions since middle school. Weronika holds a yacht skipper’s license, and this skill helps her acquire knowledge about the Polish sea. The competition is purely theoretical, and to win, participants must have detailed knowledge of the geography of the Baltic Sea, its flora and fauna, the maritime economy, and history, including important battles and navies that fought in our waters.
Sixth place in Poland is a very prestigious achievement. Maritime schools from the Tricity and many sea enthusiasts take part in the competition, so making it into the top ten is a major accomplishment.
