Police officers from the Independent Prevention Unit in Legnica, who were on duty in Lubin, detained three young men (aged 16 to 21) suspected of taking part in a fight.

The incident took place in one of Lubin’s housing estates. At one point, the officers noticed a group of young people fighting among themselves. The officers headed toward them. Some of the troublemakers then fled, but three remained and continued grappling. They were so absorbed in the fight that they did not even notice the police.

The fight started for a trivial reason. Two groups of young people were walking along the pavement. A member of one group said that he did not like the face of a member of the other group. A brawl followed.

Two of those detained, both adults, were taken into police custody. They face up to three years in prison. The 16-year-old will answer for his actions before a family court.
