Police officers from the Criminal Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra arrested a 19-year-old resident of Lwówek County suspected of breaking into and stealing a vehicle.
The officers established that on the night of May 12–13 this year, the 19-year-old stole a Nissan Pickup parked on one of the streets of the Zabobrze housing estate. The owner estimated the car’s value at PLN 14,000.
When the victim realized that the car had disappeared, he notified the police. Police officers found the vehicle. It had been abandoned in a forest in one of the localities in Lwówek County.
The 19-year-old was also arrested shortly afterward and admitted to the crime. It turned out that he had three more fuel thefts on his record.
The teenager faces up to 10 years in prison.
