The concert will take place on 21 May at Sunny Club Music in Legnica (4 Gwiezdna Street), starting at 6:00 p.m.. Before the harmonica virtuoso’s performance, we will see and hear the Wrocław-based Jay Tunes on stage.
Not only music experts and fans speak enthusiastically about Gregoire Maret (pictured with the outstanding jazz musician and multi-instrumentalist Marcus Miller), but also major international stars. “Wherever he stands, whenever he brings the harmonica to his lips, everyone rises to another level,” says acclaimed vocalist Cassandra Wilson. “His playing has an exceptionally communicative spirit, which is rare but also essential to jazz,” says guitarist Pat Metheny. “When it comes to the harmonica, there is no one at the moment who comes close to his level,” insists pianist Herbie Hancock.
Gregoire Maret, who comes from Switzerland, will perform in Legnica with a quartet of outstanding musicians. He will be accompanied by:
- Jon Cowherd (keyboards) – a permanent member of Cassandra Wilson’s band, who also plays with other major stars, including Iggy Pop and Chaka Khan
- Kendrick Scott (drums), a musician who has played with, among others, Pat Metheny and Joe Lavano
- Robert Kubiszyn (double bass), who regularly works with, among others, Anna Maria Jopek, Dorota Miśkiewicz, Grzegorz Turnau and Marek Napiórkowski.
Tickets cost: PLN 45 (advance sales), PLN 60 (on the day of the concert), PLN 30 (students and school pupils before the concert upon presentation of a valid ID). Advance tickets are available at the Legnickie Centrum Kultury box office (2 Chojnowska Street, tel. 76 72 33 706), the “Satyrykon” Gallery (36 Rynek, tel. 501 504 115), and the IMM music store, 52 Wrocławska Street.
