The incident occurred during the night of 17–18 May this year. The 52-year-old resident of Opolskie Voivodeship was driving along the A4 motorway. Near Osieczów, he caused a collision by hitting impact barriers. As a result of the crash, an element of motorway infrastructure was destroyed over a stretch of approximately 100 metres, as was the entire side of the truck.
As it turned out, the man was drunk. He had more than 2 per mille of alcohol in his system. Under the new regulations, he faces a driving ban of at least 3 years and a fine of no less than PLN 5,000.
