The Museum of Military Affairs—which is a branch of the Karkonosze Museum—has a permanent exhibition of heavy weapons, where visitors can see, among other things, a T-34 tank, a BM-13 “Katyusha” rocket launcher, and anti-aircraft and anti-tank guns from the Second World War.
This year’s fifth edition of the Military Museum Night in Jelenia Góra brought together military enthusiasts who, in addition to the equipment mentioned above, had the opportunity to try their hand at firing an AK rifle.
Soldiers from the 23rd Artillery Regiment prepared a training station using the TCW-97K “Cyclops” aiming instruction and control device. Learning how to assemble and disassemble the weapon was also helpful in mastering the basics of handling it. The youngest participants eagerly tried their hand at the “field shooting range”, while the opportunity for their older guardians to test their shooting skills allowed them to recall their time in military service.
The Museum of History and Military made its collections available to visitors free of charge. The 23rd Artillery Regiment has regularly participated in this event for several years.
