An open letter to the mayor attacking Ewa Lijewska-Małachowska, the director managing the cultural centre, was written by Bernard Łętowski. It is merely a political provocation.
What matters here is not the well-being of Iwona Bojko, the competent deputy director of BOK-MCC. Nor is it about Ewa Lijewska-Małachowska, who has managed the institution best in years. That is why I will not list the achievements of the two women, whom I value for their skills, openness and support for everyone connected with culture, as well as for creators and cultural animators working in the city.
What is Bernard Łętowski and the people involved in this letter trying to achieve? Each of them probably has their own personal intentions. Although Łętowski declares that the point is to discuss the problems of culture in Bolesławiec.
The problem, however, is that this is an artificially and politically created issue intended to stir up controversy. And controversy is indeed being stirred up. Allow me a small metaphor: Iwona Bojko is the whisk, while she is beating Ewa Lijewska-Małachowska, who is the bowl here. Who will eat the cream whipped in this way?
