The new department combines two existing units: the Department of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and the Municipal Waste Management Office. As a result of the change, one director-level position was eliminated.
Przemysław Rogowski, who has headed the Waste Management Office since July 2013, graduated from the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences and completed postgraduate studies at the Wrocław University of Economics, specializing in modern management in public administration, and at the International University of Logistics and Transport in Wrocław, specializing in new public management. He is 38 and is one of the youngest directors at the Legnica office.
The new director already has clearly defined plans for managing the department: – My closest colleagues are dynamic people. We are constantly improving customer service and logistics. Changes concerning, for example, the issuing of environmental decisions will also serve this purpose.
As Jadwiga Zienkiewicz, deputy mayor of Legnica, emphasized, the current changes are part of a policy of systematically improving the organization of work and the structure of the office. “The reorganization is intended to improve the performance of local-government tasks and resident services tailored to their needs,” says the deputy mayor of Legnica.
