On 3 May, two ceremonies connected with commemorating the Constitution of 3 May took place. The first was a solemn Holy Mass for the Homeland at the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help on Zamkowy Square. The mass was attended by the honor company of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment and the Bolesławiec Municipal Brass Band, whose bandmaster is Jan Chojnacki.

Meanwhile, at 4:00 p.m., the Forum hall hosted the concert “Through the History of Poland with Song,” prepared by the BOK-MCC workshops. During the concert, the first performers—appearing in a scene from a painting by Jan Matejko—were members of the theatre group led by Urszula Frąszczak–Matyjewicz. Next, children from the “Bolesławiec” Song and Dance Ensemble, accompanied by the “Bolesławiec” Song and Dance Ensemble Band, danced the Polonaise with a Kujawiak in beautiful noble costumes. They also performed patriotic songs, including “Another Mazur Today,” “Oh, My Rosemary,” “White Roses,” and “Hey, at the Kraków Market Square.” During the latter song, a beautiful, colorful and cheerful lajkonik appeared on stage, arousing strong emotions among the audience. The ensemble’s supervisor and choreographer is Agnieszka Podłaszczyk, and its bandmaster is Michał Braszko.

The soloists from Barbara Lendzian’s vocal workshop performed contemporary Polish patriotic songs, including “Such a Country” by Jan Pietrzak, “This World Is Strange” by Czesław Niemen, and, as a duet, “Freedom” by Marek Grechuta. The hour-long concert ended with all the participants appearing on stage. The audience rewarded the young artists with enthusiastic applause.
