On 28 April 2015, at approximately 9:27 a.m., police officers knocked on the door of an apartment in Jelenia Góra, where, according to information they had received, a wanted man was hiding. The man was wanted under an order for detention and transfer to a Detention Centre issued by the District Court in Jelenia Góra, in order to serve a three-year prison sentence in connection
with drug-related crime.
When the 28-year-old realised that officers were standing outside the door, he decided to get rid of the drugs. He threw a jar containing dried plant material out of the window. It turned out that it was caught by other police officers standing there in case the man tried to escape through another exit. Police officers also found marijuana in the apartment.
In total, they seized drugs from which more than 200 retail doses could be obtained. Police are currently clarifying all the circumstances of the case in detail, establishing the source of the seized drugs and checking whether the man was involved in their distribution. The 28-year-old was taken into police custody. Possession of a significant quantity of drugs may carry a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
